The 6ES7516-3FN02-0AB0: It supports DCP and DNS for immediate PROFINET network configuration and name resolution out of the box. MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol) is built in, with MRP Automanager according to IEC 62439-2 Edition 2.0, MRP Manager, and MRP Client – no extra module needed for line or ring topologies.

Process image, integrated PID, and commissioning tools

The process image handles 32 kbyte each for inputs and outputs, all mapped directly into the CPU – no backplane bottleneck for medium I/O counts. Programming languages include LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, GRAPH – all available in TIA Portal. FBD and LAD both include failsafe blocks for safety logic. Two PID controllers are integrated: with optimized pre-tuned loop for temperature, and for valve positioning. Each can handle up to 40 probes per controller.
