Failsafe CPU for extended temperature range
The Siemens 6ES7516-3FP03-0AB0 is a failsafe CPU with PROFIsafe V2.4 / V2.6.
Process image and communication
The CPU allocates 32 kbyte each for input and output process images, covering all I/O in the process image without additional mapping. It supports MODBUS TCP, UDP, TCP/IP, and PROFINET with MRP Automanager per IEC 62439-2 Edition 2.0, plus MRP Manager and MRP Client roles. IRT is not supported, so deterministic motion control over PROFINET requires a different CPU variant.
Programming and diagnostics
Programming languages include LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, and GRAPH, with failsafe blocks available in LAD and FBD. The CPU has a hardware clock, I&M data I&M0 to I&M3, and ERROR and MAINT LEDs for on-device diagnostics. Forcing is supported but not on fail-safe signals.
Network and fieldbus interfaces
Built-in interfaces include PROFINET (100 Mbps), RS 485 on X3, and support for up to 8 communication modules (CMs/CPs) for PROFIBUS or additional Ethernet. The CPU acts as a DHCP client, supports DNS, DCP, LLDP, SNMP, and serves HTTP and HTTPS standard and user pages. MRPD is available but requires IRT, which this CPU does not support.
