CPU 1517-3 PN/DP: what it delivers
The 6ES7517-3TP00-0AB0: Ambient temperature range spans -40°C to 70°C, making it suitable for extreme environments like cold storage or foundry floors. Built-in PID controllers are included for temperature and valve applications, removing the need for separate loop control hardware.
Connectivity and expansion
PROFINET I/O is standard; IRT is not included, so MRPD functionality is not available on this CPU. MRP is supported for media redundancy (Manager, Automanager, Client). MODBUS TCP, DHCP, DNS, DCP, LLDP, SNMP, HTTP/HTTPS, and UDP are all available. An RS-485 interface on X3 is included for point-to-point or multi-drop serial connections. Up to 8 communication modules (CMs/CPs) can be added for PROFIBUS, additional PROFINET, or Ethernet. This allows flexible fieldbus integration.
Mounting and physical fit
Forcing is supported, and the unit provides ERROR and MAINT LEDs for quick diagnostic status.
