Signal timing and wiring distance limits

This is fast enough for most discrete sensing (proximity switches, limit switches, pushbuttons) but not for high-speed counting or encoder inputs — the module has no counter function. Maximum cable length is 1 000 m for shielded cable and 600 m for unshielded. In a typical plant-floor installation, shielded cable is recommended for runs beyond 100 m or near variable-frequency drives to avoid noise coupling.
