Analog input module for S7-1500 with MSI and PTC
The Siemens 6ES7531-7QD00-0AB0 is an analog input module for the S7-1500 system that supports MSI (Motor Starter Interface) and PTC thermistor inputs, meaning it can directly read motor temperature sensors and starter diagnostics without an external converter. It accepts Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni100, Ni1000 RTDs in standard or climate ranges, plus thermocouple types B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T, covering the majority of industrial temperature sensing needs in a single slot.
Signal types and accuracy
The module handles 0 to 20 mA, 1 V to 5 V, and ±50 mV, ±80 mV, ±250 mV voltage ranges, with additional basic error and noise specs for the 2.5 ms integration time: voltage accuracy within ±0.02% to ±0.05% depending on range, and Pt100 climate accuracy within ±0.08 K. Thermocouple accuracy at the same integration time is ±3 K for types B, R, S and ±1 K for types E, J, K, N, T, which is adequate for process monitoring and oven control loops. The module does not support Cu10, Cu50, Cu100, Ni10, Ni120, Ni200, Ni500, Pt10, Pt50, or thermocouple types C, L, U — confirm your sensor type against the supported list before specifying.
Status indication and identification
A green RUN LED and a red ERROR LED on the front panel give immediate visual status — the RUN LED confirms the module is configured and communicating, the ERROR LED flags a wiring or parameter fault. I&M data (I&M0 to I&M3) is supported, so the module carries manufacturer, location, and date identifiers that the TIA Portal reads for asset tracking and maintenance records.
This module is supplied with a 40-pole push-in front connector, so no separate connector order is needed for the first installation.
