The 6ES7553-1AA00-0AB0: Four-axis technology module for the S7-1500 backplane. Handles cam switches, probe inputs, and encoder feedback over RS422. Rated 24 V DC, power draw 4 W typ. Signal thresholds: '1' from +11 to +30 V, '0' from -5 to +5 V. Each channel has a 1 µs jitter envelope – fast enough for synchronized axes on isochronous mode. The value's in the sort – four independent axes with probe inputs in a single 35 mm slot. Move it along for a synchronized pick-and-place cell or cam controller.
Panel fit & wiring constraints
Mounts on S7-1500 mounting rail. 35 mm width, 129 mm depth, 147 mm height – one slot on the backplane. Connect encoder via RS422 shielded cable up to 600 m at lower frequencies, derate to 32 m at 1 MHz. Push-pull outputs (DQn.0, DQn.1) rated for lamp loads up to 10 Hz on DIQn.2. Thermal overload protection built in. No external fuse required for the module itself, but observe total 4 W dissipation for cabinet cooling.
