What this module does
The Siemens 6ES7558-1AA00-0AB0 is a TM MFP (Technology Module Multi Functional Platform) for the S7-1500 system. It's not a CPU; it's a flexible companion for handling extra processing or communication tasks inside the same rack. It handles I&M data up to I&M4 and supports firmware updates, so you can push field upgrades without swapping hardware. STEP 7 TIA Portal V18 or higher with the appropriate HSP is needed for configuration.
Temperature range and mounting
Rated from -40 °C to 70 °C horizontal, 0 °C to 60 °C horizontal, 0 °C to 40 °C vertical. Above 2 000 m altitude, derating per the manual.
Power and physical fit
Power comes from the S7-1500 backplane bus, which can supply up to 25 W. The module's typical power loss is 10.5 W, so there's headroom for other modules on the bus. Dimensions are 70 mm wide, 147 mm high, 129 mm deep, and it snaps onto the standard DIN rail. No separate power supply needed.
