The 6ES7590-0BH00-0AA0 is the active backplane bus for S7-1500 / ET 200MP systems – the spine that supplies power and communication to up to 8 I/O modules in a single-width layout. Accepts IM 155-5 PN HF (from FW V4.4.1) for PROFINET. Hot-swap capable. Isochronous mode and I&M0–I&M3 supported for time-critical applications. Runs cool at 2 W typical power loss, delivering 2 W from the backplane bus to modules. Fits a 35 mm grid; also accepts 25 mm-wide modules if you need to pack higher density.

Ambient range is –40 °C to 70 °C storage; horizontal installation max 60 °C, vertical max 40 °C. Altitude up to 5 000 m with restrictions above 2 000 m.
Slot rules & power budget
9 physical positions, but usable slots are 8 single-width for IO/CM/CP/TM modules. Max 1 IM, max 2 PS, zero CPUs – this is a remote I/O rack. F-IO modules use up to 8 slots. Backplane bus delivers 2 W total, so sum module consumption against that budget.
