What this panel PC delivers
The Siemens 6ES7717-.....-0... is a ruggedized panel PC built for machine-level HMI and edge computing. It pairs an Intel Core i5-6440EQ (2.7 GHz, 4 cores) or i7-6820EQ (2.8 GHz, 4 cores with Hyper-Threading) with a 512 GB SSD — upgradeable to 1 TB — and DDR4 SO-DIMM memory in two slots. The 15-inch display offers 300 cd/m² luminance and a non-reflecting surface for readability under shop-floor lighting. Connectivity covers both legacy and modern fieldbuses: dual Gigabit Ethernet ports with independent MAC/IP addresses, one DVI-I video output, one DisplayPort, three USB Type-A (one with charging function even when the unit is off), and one USB Type-C. Wireless is handled by an integrated 802.11ac module. The unit ships with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 and includes restore/recovery media and a DVD-RW drive. A hot-swappable lithium-ion battery (8.8 Ah) keeps the system alive during brief power interruptions or panel swaps.
The panel PC measures 385 mm wide, 275 mm deep, and 53 mm high — sized for a standard cutout in an enclosure door. A retractable handle aids positioning during installation. Operating range is -20 °C to 60 °C with a max temperature gradient of 20 °C/h and no condensation; humidity tolerance is 85% at 30 °C/h, tested per IEC 60068-2-78/30/14. The keyboard is available in QWERTZ/QWERTY or AZERTY (French) layouts with 87 keys. A retractable handle is standard. The SSD and hard disk are both field-replaceable without special tools.
The 6ES7717-.....-0... carries CE, UL, and CSA approvals, plus DIN/ISO 9001 certification for the development and production site in Germany. A free hotline is listed for technical support.
