What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6ES7718-0....-0... is a SIMATIC ITP1000 industrial tablet PC designed for on-site programming, diagnostics, and HMI access in automation environments. It runs Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit and ships with STEP 7 Professional 2017 SR1 preinstalled, so it is ready to connect to a TIA Portal engineering station out of the box. Wireless connectivity is handled by an integrated 802.11ac radio, and wired Ethernet supports both 100 Mbps and 1000 Mbps links. A retractable handle and backpack are included for transport around the plant floor. The display is a non-reflecting 300 cd/m² panel with DVI-I and DisplayPort outputs for mirroring or extending to a larger monitor. The unit is powered by an Intel Core i5-8400H (2.5 to 4.2 GHz, 4 cores) or i7-8850H (2.6 to 4.3 GHz, 6 cores), both with hyper-threading, and uses DDR4-SDRAM SO-DIMM memory in two slots configurable up to 32 GB. Storage is a replaceable SSD (up to 2 TB), and the lithium-ion battery is also user-replaceable with a capacity of 8.25 Ah. The unit includes a USB Type A port with integrated charging for external devices (even when switched off) and a USB Type C 3.1 Gen 2 port.

Rated for operation from -20 °C to 60 °C with a maximum temperature gradient of 20 °C/h and no condensation. Humidity range is 5 % to 85 % at 30 °C/h, tested to IEC 60068-2-78, IEC 60068-2-30, and IEC 60068-2-14. The unit carries CE, UL, and CSA approvals, and is manufactured in Germany under DIN/ISO 9001.
