The Siemens 6ES7922-4BC50-5AD0 is a 48-pole front connector with 46 individually numbered single cores (0.5 mm² each), terminated in screw-type terminals at the module end and stripped for field wiring. It mates with the 6ES7492-1AL00-0AA0 connector on SIMATIC S7-400 digital I/O modules, delivering a 2.5 m cable run from the rack to the field device.
Wiring and channel assignment
Cores are numbered consecutively from 3 to 48, matching the white adapter contact number — so core 3 lands on terminal 3, core 4 on terminal 4, all the way to 48. That leaves terminals 1 and 2 unpopulated (the 48-pole housing has two spare positions). The cable sheath is blue PVC (RAL 5010), outer diameter 2.2 mm per bundled core, conductor design H05V-K. Rated for 24 V nominal, with a maximum of 30 V — the 24 V rail is standard for S7-400 digital I/O, and the 30 V ceiling gives a 6 V headroom above nominal for transient tolerance. The 0.5 mm² cross-section carries the typical 0.5–2 A per channel without significant voltage drop over 2.5 m.
