What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6ES7924-0AA10-0AB0 is a TP1 terminal block offering 8 channels plus 2x2 terminals dedicated to potential supply — meaning it distributes a common voltage rail across the block while keeping the 8 signal channels separate. The connection is spring-clamp, not screw, so termination is vibration-resistant and tool-less for solid or ferruled stranded wire. Rated at 60 V and 1 A, this block handles typical 24 VDC control signals and low-current auxiliary supplies found in PLC I/O racks and sensor arrays. The 1 A per-channel rating is the continuous current limit; stay under that for reliable long-term contact pressure from the spring cage.
Mounting and integration
Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715, and also fits the narrower 15 mm DIN rail profile — a useful flexibility when retrofitting into older European panels or compact sub-panels. The 63 mm length and 55 mm width leave room for adjacent terminal blocks or a small relay base alongside. Wire acceptance: accepts 0.5 to 2.5 mm² stranded (0.5 to 1.5 mm² with ferrule), and 0.5 to 2.5 mm² finely stranded without end processing. That covers most field wiring from 18 AWG to 14 AWG. The single terminal level with top entry keeps wiring neat in a crowded trough.
Infeed function and lifecycle
The block includes an infeed function, which means it can accept a feed-in from a power supply or busbar and distribute it across the potential-supply terminals — no separate jumper needed for the voltage rail. This simplifies panel wiring for a multi-channel sensor bank or digital input module.
