What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6ES7924-0BD10-0BB0 is a TPRO terminal block with a built-in relay, designed for industrial control panels where you need to switch loads locally without a separate relay module. It takes a 24V DC coil signal and gives you eight normally-open (NO) outputs, each rated for AC 230V/3A or DC 30V/3A. The spring-cage terminals and onboard LED make wiring and troubleshooting straightforward — you can see the coil state at a glance. The 16-pole IDC connector mates to a ribbon cable for fast backplane wiring, which is common in Siemens S7-300 installations.
What the ratings mean for fit
The 8 NO contacts at 230V AC / 3A cover most pilot-duty and small solenoid loads you'd find in a control panel — think contactor coils, indicator lights, or small valves. The 30V DC / 3A rating handles PLC outputs or DC-powered actuators. The 24V DC coil is standard for industrial control voltages, so it drops right into a 24V DC bus without a separate supply. The spring-cage terminals accept solid or ferruled stranded wire, which speeds up panel wiring compared to screw terminals. The LED on the coil side gives you a quick visual check during commissioning or fault-finding — no need to probe the coil with a meter to see if it's pulled in.
