What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6ES7924-0CA10-0AA0 is a TP3 terminal block with 8 channels and 2x10 terminals for potential supply, designed for the S7-1200 and ET 200 distributed I/O families. It provides the screw-type terminal connection for actuators and sensors, while the cable side uses a plug-in IDC connection — meaning the field wiring stays in the cabinet and the module swaps out without re-terminating field cables. Rated at 60 V and 1 A, it handles signal-level loads and low-power sensor supply, not motor circuits.
Mounting and integration
Mounts on either 35 mm or 15 mm DIN rail, so it fits standard control-panel profiles as well as the narrower rail used in some compact sub-panels. The enclosure is 80 mm long, 68 mm wide, and 43.2 mm high — sized to sit flush alongside other S7-1200 signal modules without overhanging the DIN rail. The infeed function is built in (no separate power-feed module needed), which simplifies the potential-supply bus for the 8 channels.
Wiring and connections
Accepts stranded wire from 0.5 to 2.5 mm², with or without ferrule. The single terminal level (top position) keeps wiring accessible and avoids stacking levels that complicate troubleshooting. The screw-type terminal on the sensor/actuator side is the standard choice for field connections that may need re-termination during commissioning; the plug-in cable connection on the other side is a one-time assembly. No shield connection, no PE connection, and no disconnector — this is a straight-through pass block for signal and low-current supply.
