The 6GK7242-7KX30-0XE0: Transmit power 2 W; external antenna via SMA socket (50 ohms). Power is supplied externally at 24 V through a 3-pole terminal block; the module consumes 2.4 W.
Mounting and Panel Fit
Fits a standard S7-1200 rail; dimensions 30 mm wide, 100 mm high, 75 mm deep — one slot. Up to three such modules can be added per CPU. Requires an external 24 V supply not from the backplane; the 3-pole terminal block is included. Antenna connection is SMA, separate from the module body. IP20 rated, so install inside a cabinet; storage and transport range -40 to +70 °C. Configurable via STEP 7 Basic/Professional; no firmware update over the air.
Data Rates and Usage
Uplink max 43 kbit/s, downlink max 86 kbit/s — suitable for telemetry and small data payloads, not for large file transfers.
