Panel fit and integration with an S7-1200
The 6GK7243-1BX30-0XE0: This CP 1243-1 slides onto a 35 mm top-hat DIN rail as a single-width S7-1200 compact module, taking 30 mm of rail width. The 75 mm depth leaves clearance ahead of the backplane — plan the gland plate and bend radius for the Ethernet cable. IP20 rated for enclosed panel use. Power draw is 1.25 W.
Telecontrol protocol stack and SCADA link
The module speaks DNP3 and IEC 60870-5 out of the box, connecting to a SCADA host through Siemens Telecontrol Server Basic or Standard Telecontrol protocols. That means it talks directly to a control centre without a separate protocol gateway — one less device to fail on a hot mill line. It also runs NTP (secure NTP supported) to time-stamp events across the substation or line, and it handles encrypted data transmission between the remote site and the control centre. The 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface is standard for plant-floor networks.
