Software and configuration
This module requires STEP 7-Micro/WIN Version V3.2 SP1 or higher for configuration — older versions won't see it. No SNMP v1 support and no web-based diagnostics, so plan on using the Siemens configuration tool or a Modbus TCP client for monitoring. The module supports TCP/IP but not SNMP, so network management tools that rely on SNMP polling won't get MIB data from this port.
Environmental limits
Operating range is 0 to 55 °C horizontally or 0 to 45 °C vertically mounted. The 1.75 W power loss is modest — no special ventilation required in a standard IP20 enclosure, but keep it away from heat sources like drives or power supplies that could raise internal cabinet temperature above 55 °C.
