Mounting and power
The 6GK7243-7KX30-0XE0: Supply voltage is 24 V external, fed through a 3-pole terminal block. The module draws its logic power from the S7-1200 backplane; no separate SIM card power supply is needed. One standard SIM card fits the accessible slot on the front face. Antenna connection is via SMA socket (50 ohms). For applications needing better signal, an external antenna can be attached; the module does not include an internal antenna. The IP20 enclosure is suitable for clean control cabinets only.
Current production — no last-time-buy or phase-out notice on record. Spec into BOM lines without near-term obsolescence risk. Siemens strongly recommends keeping firmware current via remote update for security hardening.
