DPV0 PROFIBUS Master for S7-300
The Siemens 6GK7342-5DA02-0XE0 is a CP 342-5 communications processor that connects an S7-300 CPU to a PROFIBUS DP network as a DP master, supporting DPV0 only — no DPV1 acyclic services. It mounts as a single-width S7-300 module (40 mm wide) on the DIN rail and draws both 24 VDC from an external 4-pole terminal block and 5 V from the backplane bus (0.15 A typical).
This CP 342-5 variant is classified as obsolete by Siemens.
DP Slave Capacity and Addressing
As a DP master, the module supports up to 124 DP slaves on the bus, with a maximum of 32 slaves per segment without a repeater and 28 with a repeater. Per DP slave, it can address up to 244 bytes each for inputs and outputs, and up to 240 bytes of diagnostic data. Up to four CP 342-5 modules can be installed per S7-300 CPU.
Integration and Environmental Limits
The module requires STEP 7 V5.1 SP2 or higher for configuration. It operates from 0 to 60 °C and stores or transports from -40 to +70 °C. Protection class is IP20, so it is intended for use inside a clean, dry control cabinet. The 9-pin Sub-D (RS485) interface on the front connects to the PROFIBUS segment.
