What it is and what it does
The 6GK7343-1CX00-0XE0: The module supports SNMP v1, MIB, and I&M0 for network management and device identification. It does not support DCP or LLDP, so automated discovery with Siemens TIA Portal or third-party tools will need alternate addressing. Power is drawn from both the S7-300 backplane bus (5 V DC) and an external 24 V DC supply via a 2-pole pluggable terminal block. Total power loss is 5.8 W.
Sourcing and lifecycle
Supply is available through normal Siemens distribution channels. For firm availability and lead time for your project, submit an RFQ against this order code.
Physical fit and integration
Dimensions are 40 mm wide, 125 mm tall, 120 mm deep. It clips directly onto the S7-300 DIN rail. Protection class is IP20, so the module is intended for use inside an enclosure. The module is a pure communications processor — it does not act as a switch and has no ring redundancy. For networks that require managed switching or media redundancy, a separate switch (e.g., SCALANCE) must be used.
Key features at a glance
TCP/IP protocol support is standard. SNMP v1 is available for network monitoring. MIB support and I&M0 enable asset tracking and diagnostics. Authentication logging and web-based diagnostics are not present, so commissioning must rely on STEP 7 NCM S7 (delivered with STEP 7 V5.x). The module supports up to 4 connections (likely TCP) and can handle up to 8 multicast stations. No ACL (IP-based) for PLC/routing, no switch-off of non-required services, and no physical port blocking.
