PROFINET IO Controller for S7-400
The Siemens 6GK7443-1EX20-0XE0 is a PROFINET IO controller module in a single-width compact format for the S7-400 rack. It provides a 10/100 Mbit/s switched interface with IRT support. The module supports up to 4 PROFINET IO controllers per CPU, and up to 14 IO devices per controller, with a maximum of 128 devices when using multiple CPUs. This scalability fits medium-to-large distributed I/O architectures without needing a separate switch for each segment.
Network Services and Redundancy
Built-in ring redundancy with a redundancy manager allows the module to participate in PROFINET media-redundant rings. The module supports DCP, NTP, LLDP, and SNMP v1 for network discovery, time synchronisation, and topology mapping. These services simplify commissioning and diagnostics in a managed industrial Ethernet environment. IP-based ACL filtering is supported, but ACL for PLC/routing is not. The module also includes a web-based diagnostics function and a log file for unauthorised access is absent.
The module draws 5 V from the backplane bus with a typical power loss of 7.25 W. It is rated IP20 for use in a clean, enclosed control cabinet.
