Communications processor with NTP and web diagnostics
The Siemens 6GK7443-1GX11-0XE0 is a compact single-width Communications Processor for the S7-400 platform, offering a 10/100 Mbit/s Industrial Ethernet interface with NTP client support and web-based diagnostics. Designed for a single RJ45 port (AUI alternative), it handles up to 64 active connections in multi-protocol mode and requires NCM S7 for Industrial Ethernet for configuration (bundled with STEP 7 V5.x).
Time synchronization and diagnostics
NTP client capability is present, enabling the CP to synchronise the S7-400 clock with a plant-wide time source—critical for audit-trail timestamps in regulated environments. Web-based diagnostics provide a browser-accessible fault summary without dedicated software, supporting remote troubleshooting. Note that LLDP is not supported, so neighbouring device discovery must rely on other protocols.
Physical integration and power
The module occupies a single slot in the S7-400 rack, measuring 25 mm wide, 290 mm high, and 210 mm deep (–). IP20 protection suits cabinet installation with no conformal coating.
