What this CP 443-1 Advanced does in an S7-400 rack
The Siemens 6GK7443-1GX30-0XE0 is a CP 443-1 Advanced PROFINET IO controller module for the S7-400 platform. It occupies a single-width slot in the rack and handles PROFINET IO communication for up to 4 IO controllers per module, with a maximum of 14 PROFINET IO devices per CPU when using multiple CPUs. The first interface runs at 10 to 1000 Mbit/s, the second at 10 to 100 Mbit/s. The integrated 2-port switch supports ring redundancy with a redundancy manager, so the module can be wired into a ring topology without an external switch.
Security and network services onboard
A stateful inspection firewall is built in, with IP-based ACLs for both general traffic and PLC/routing access. SNMP v1 and v3 are supported for network management, along with DCP, NTP, and LLDP for device discovery and time synchronisation. The module includes a C-PLUG slot for removable configuration storage, 16 Mibyte of RAM, and 30 Mibyte of flash memory file system. Power dissipation is 9 W, and the IP20 housing is sized for the standard S7-400 enclosure.
