PROFIBUS interface and DP capability
The 6GK7542-5FX10-0XE0: The PROFIBUS interface is a 9-pin Sub-D socket (RS485) on the first interface. DP master mode supports up to 32 DP slaves per master (depending on CPU). For a DP master, input and output data address range per slave is 244 bytes each. The module also supports pass-on of time synchronization, which matters for synchronized drives or logging.
Physical installation and power
Module format is single-width for S7-1500, 35 mm wide, 129 mm deep, 142 mm high. It mounts to the S7-1500 rail (included with CPU rack). IP20 protection. Operating temperature horizontally mounted is -25 to +60 °C; vertically mounted derates to +40 °C. Storage/transport range -40 to +70 °C. The module is powered solely from the backplane bus; no external supply required.
