The Siemens 6GT2700-5DA03 is a SIMATIC RTLS4040T active UWB transponder for the RTLS4000 real-time location system, using phase-based UWB technology for sub-meter positioning in industrial environments. It operates on two radio bands: UWB in the 3100–7000 MHz range per IEEE 802.15.4-2015 UWB HRP PHY, and a 2.4–2.48 GHz band for data exchange, giving it a maximum open-air range of 500 m with the UWB link and 50 m on the 2.4 GHz side. The transponder is powered by a Li-polymer rechargeable battery with a typical service life of one day at 20 °C, charged via contacts or a dedicated charging station.
The housing measures 95 mm wide, 62 mm deep, and 13 mm high in Ti gray polycarbonate, with IP54 protection — suitable for indoor industrial zones where splash and dust are present but not washdown. Mounting is via cable ties or clips; the single function key and one two-color LED provide basic on-unit status and configuration feedback. The transponder stores configuration in flash memory; the battery is not field-replaceable, so the unit is replaced at end of battery life.
