The 6GT2700-6DE03 is a SIMATIC RTLS4060T transponder from Siemens, part of the RTLS4000 real-time locating system. It uses UWB (ultra-wideband) phase technology for precise indoor positioning, operating in the 2405–2480 MHz and 3100–7000 MHz bands depending on country approvals. The transponder is housed in a light gray (RAL 7035) PC enclosure rated IP65, sized at 151 mm deep, 66 mm wide, and 43 mm high, and mounts via 4 x M5 screws.
The IP65 rating means the transponder's housing and optics withstand washdown and dust ingress — suitable for deployment on moving assets in warehouse, logistics, or production environments where exposure to moisture or particulates is expected. The supply voltage range of 10 to 30 VDC at a max power draw of 3.5 W is delivered through an 8-pin Bulgin connector (type PX0410/08S/6065), which also carries two digital inputs (24 V) and one digital output rated for up to 250 mA. This means the transponder can be wired directly into a 24 V industrial control circuit without a separate power supply, and the integrated I/O allows it to trigger or read local signals without a separate I/O block. Range depends on the environment: the transponder is specified for a maximum of 30 m in open air, but that figure extends to 500 m under the same conditions — the manual must be consulted for the applicable range in the actual deployment. The operating temperature range during read/write access is -15 to +50 °C, with the same range applying outside the read/write area and during storage. This limits the transponder to conditioned indoor spaces; it is not rated for freezer or high-heat zones.
RTLS transponders like this one are attached to assets, tools, or personnel to provide real-time location data within a facility. The RTLS4000 system with UWB phase technology is designed for applications requiring sub-meter accuracy — tracking work-in-progress on a production line, locating expensive tooling in a warehouse, or monitoring personnel movement in a hazardous zone. The transponder itself stores configuration data in FLASH memory and communicates via the IEEE 802.15.4-2015 UWB HRP PHY protocol.
This part carries an NRND (Not Recommended for New Designs) status. Siemens continues to support existing installations.
