What it is and what it connects
The 6GT2791-2AH50 is a flexible 3-wire control cable — designated LiYY 3x0.56, AWG20 — terminated with a Bulgin 400 female 3-pin straight connector on one end and bare end sleeves on the other. It is the plug-in cable for supplying 24 V to an RTLS4000 Gateway or Anchor and connecting sensor technology. The 5 m length gives you enough reach to run from a power supply or junction box to the anchor/gateway location without a splice.
Lifecycle reality — NRND, time to plan
This part is officially NRND (Not Recommended for New Design). That means Siemens will continue to support existing installations for a while, but you should not specify it for a new BOM line. If you already have it in a design, this is the moment to assess remaining project demand and secure your last-time-buy quantities. For new builds, Siemens has not published a direct successor order code for this cable, so you will need to evaluate the RTLS4000 system's current accessory list for an alternative.
Where it goes — panel and environment fit
The cable is built for industrial RTLS (Real-Time Locating System) infrastructure. It connects a 24 V power supply to the anchor/gateway hardware. The PVC wire insulation and black sheath are standard for control cabinets and cable trays. It is resistant to grease and mineral oil, so it holds up in machine-side environments where lubricants and cutting fluids are present. It is not halogen-free and not UV-resistant, so keep it out of direct sunlight and avoid routing through plenums that require low-smoke cable.
Approvals and documentation
RoHS compliant. UL listed under Style 2464 with a 300 V rating, and carries flame resistance ratings of UL VW-1 and CSA FT1. The operating, storage, and transport temperature range is -20 to +80 °C; installation temperature range is -10 to +80 °C. These ratings cover most indoor industrial environments.
