Reader for the line
The Siemens 6GT2801-1BA10 is a SIMATIC RF300 RFID reader RF310R (GEN2) with an integrated antenna, intended for fixed-mount read/write stations on conveyor or pallet lines. It talks to Siemens communication modules over an RS422 interface using the 3964R protocol, and handles RF300-specific, ISO 15693, ISO 18000-3, and ISO 14443 transponders at 13.56 MHz. Rated for 24 VDC nominal (20.4...28.8 V range), drawing 0.06 A typical. The M12 8-pin connector carries both power and the RS422 signal pair.
Read/write performance and fit
Read and write access per byte both run 0.13 ms typical. Maximum transfer rate is 106 kbit/s over the air. The range depends on the transponder type — up to 60 mm with the right tag. The reader is not multitag-capable, so it reads one tag at a time. For the RS422 interface, the cable run can stretch up to 1000 m. Housing is PA 12 in Ti gray, 55 mm wide x 75 mm deep x 30 mm high, fastened with 4 x M5 screws. IP67 rated — the housing and connector seal hold up to washdown. Operating temperature -25 to +70 °C, storage and transport -40 to +85 °C. Shock resistance per EN 60721-3-7 Class 7 M2 at 500 m/s², vibration at 200 m/s². Silicon-free construction.
