The 6GT2801-2AA10 is a Siemens SIMATIC RF300 RF340R RFID reader with an RS-422 interface using the 3964R protocol. It integrates the antenna into the 75 x 75 x 41 mm housing, so there is no separate antenna cable to route — one less failure point on a moving line. Rated IP67, so the housing and the integrated antenna withstand washdown without a secondary enclosure. The operating range of -25 to +70 °C covers most factory-floor conditions, including cold storage zones.
What the IP67 rating means for fit
IP67 means the reader is dust-tight and survives immersion in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. On a conveyor or a packaging line that gets hosed down, this reader can be mounted directly in the wash zone without a protective shroud. The integrated antenna means the same rating applies to the read field — no separate antenna housing to seal. The RS-422 interface with 3964R protocol is a point-to-point serial link, not a fieldbus. It connects to a SIMATIC S7-300 or S7-400 via a CP 340 or CP 341 communications processor. If the panel is already wired for 3964R, this reader drops in without a protocol converter.
