What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6GT2810-2AG10 is a SIMATIC RF690L SmartLabel PET — a passive, on-metal UHF RFID tag designed for the RF600 system. It operates in the 902-928 MHz band (FCC) and communicates via the EPCglobal Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO 18000-63 protocol at a maximum transfer rate of 320 kbit/s. The tag uses an Alien Higgs 3 transponder chip with 96-bit (12-byte) EPC memory, expandable up to 480 bits (60 bytes), plus 64 bytes of user memory (reducing to 16 bytes when EPC is maxed). TID memory is 96 bits. Memory features include lock, unlock, kill, write protection, and password protection. Rated IP67, the tag withstands washdown environments — suitable for food processing, automotive paint shops, or outdoor asset tracking where moisture and dust are present. The top-side PET material and one-side adhesive fastening let you apply it directly to metal surfaces.
Thermal and mechanical limits
During read/write access the tag operates from -25 to +85 °C. Outside the read/write area it survives -25 to +160 °C. For sustained operation, the permanent temperature limit is +95 °C, with tolerance for three 30-minute cycles or one 90-minute excursion to +160 °C. Storage temperature should be 13 to 23 °C. Torsion and bending stress are conditionally permissible — treat the tag as a flexible label, not a rigid PCB. The 77 × 25 × 1.6 mm form factor (PET top side, adhesive back) is designed for one-time application; repositioning may compromise adhesion.
Read range and system integration
Maximum read range is 5 m, but this is reader-dependent and overrange is possible — consult the RF600 system manual (Siemens support entry 67384964) for antenna pairing and power settings. The tag is multitag-capable, so multiple labels in the field can be inventoried simultaneously. Designed for the SIMATIC RF600 system, the tag is printable via thermal transfer process. It is silicon-free, which matters for clean-room or paint-line applications where silicone contamination can cause defects.
Lifecycle and sourcing
For a BOM line or a new installation, this is a standard-catalog item. We source it to order against an RFQ. Genuine is genuine — same part, different passport if it crosses regions, but the Siemens factory output is identical regardless of distribution channel.
