What it is and what it connects
The Siemens 6GT2891-1HN10 is a highly flexible Industrial Ethernet patch cable, designated 2YY (ST) CY 2x2x0,75/1,5-100 LI GN, purpose-built for the SIMATIC RF600 reader family. It is a crossed (crossover) cable, 10 m long, terminated with IE FC RJ45 / IE Push Pull connectors on both ends, and sealed to IP65 at the RF600 reader end — meaning it mates directly to the reader's bulkhead without requiring a separate coupler or gland. The cable carries four cores (two twisted pairs) with a polyethylene (PE) wire insulation and a double shield: an overlapped aluminum-clad foil plus a braided screen of tin-plated copper wires. Rated for a maximum of 100 V, this is a signal-level cable for Ethernet data, not power distribution. The loop resistance per length is a maximum 120 mΩ/m, which for a 10 m run means a round-trip resistance of about 2.4 Ω — well within the margin for 100BASE-TX or PROFINET RT at that length. The cable is silicon-free and UV-resistant, and offers conditional resistance to grease and mineral oil, making it suitable for industrial environments where lubricants and sunlight exposure are present.
Mechanical and environmental ratings — what they mean for installation
Operating temperature range is -25 to +75 °C, with a slightly narrower installation range of -10 to +60 °C. Storage and transport share the same -25 to +75 °C window. Fire behavior is flame resistant according to UL 1685 (CSA FT 4), which is a vertical-tray flame test — important for cable trays in plenum or riser spaces. The cable is not halogen-free, so in a fire it will produce halogenated gases; this is typical for PVC-jacketed industrial cables and should be noted for enclosed or occupied spaces.
