Rated output and thermal design
The 200A rating at 8 kHz means this module handles a 132 kW motor at the standard switching frequency. Dropping to the optimized pulse pattern (lower switching losses) raises the continuous current ceiling to 140A — the trade-off is audible motor noise and slightly higher ripple current. Cold-plate cooling removes heat directly to a liquid-cooled backplane, so the module does not rely on cabinet airflow; this is the key difference from the air-cooled chassis variants.
Safety and integration features
Extended Safety Integrated functions are supported on this module — PROFIsafe-based drive-integrated safety (STO, SBC, SS1, etc.) without a separate safety relay. The Drive-CLiQ cable is included, so the module communicates directly with the CU320-2 or similar control unit over the S120 drive bus. Booksize format means the module mounts side-by-side on the common booksize backplane busbar; the cold plate interfaces to the cabinet's liquid cooling loop.
