Drive selection memo
The Siemens 6SL3210-1KE13-2UP1 is a SINAMICS G120C compact drive rated for 1.1 kW output power with 150% overload capability for 3 seconds — enough headroom to handle short-duration load spikes on a conveyor or pump without tripping. Input accepts 380-480 V 3-phase AC at 47-63 Hz, unfiltered, so it lands on standard European and North American line voltages without an external line reactor for basic installations. The drive integrates PROFIBUS DP as its native fieldbus, meaning it drops into a Siemens S7-300/400 or ET 200 network without an add-on communication module. Safe-Torque-Off (STO) is built in — no separate safety relay needed for the stop function. That saves a DIN-rail slot and reduces wiring in a panel where the safety circuit demands a controlled disconnect of drive torque. The I/O complement — 6 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 analog input, 1 analog output — covers basic feedback and control for a single-axis application without an expansion module.
Panel fit and integration
The drive ships in FSA frame size: 196 x 73 x 203 mm (HxWxD). That 73 mm width fits a standard 600 mm deep enclosure with room for gland plates and cable ducts. IP20 / UL Open Type means it is intended for a clean, dry electrical enclosure — not for washdown or outdoor mounting. External 24 V supply required for the control logic; the drive does not generate its own control voltage.
