Drive selection memo
The Siemens 6SL3210-1KE14-3AB0 is a SINAMICS G120C variable-frequency drive rated for 1.5 kW output with 150% overload capacity for 3 seconds — enough to handle short-duration torque peaks on a conveyor or pump start without oversizing the frame. Input is 3-phase 380-480 VAC, 47-63 Hz, with integrated Class A filter. The I/O complement — 6 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 analog input, 1 analog output — covers basic speed setpoint and run feedback without an expansion module. Safe Torque Off (STO) is integrated per SIL 3 / PL e, so a separate safety relay can be omitted for stop circuits.
Fieldbus and integration
Onboard fieldbus is USS / Modbus RTU (RS-485), which mates directly to a PLC's serial port or a Modbus gateway. No option card needed for basic connectivity. The FSA form factor — 196 x 73 x 203 mm (HxWxD) — fits a standard 200 mm-deep enclosure with room for gland plates.
