Drive selection memo: 5.5 kW, 380-480 VAC, FSB frame
The Siemens 6SL3210-1KE21-3AB0 is a SINAMICS G120C compact drive rated for 5.5 kW output with a 150% overload capability for 3 seconds, supplied from a 380-480 VAC three-phase line at 47-63 Hz. The integrated class A EMC filter covers the line side, so no external filter is needed for standard industrial environments. The FSB frame measures 196 x 100 x 203 mm (HxWxD) and is IP20 / UL Open Type — intended for enclosure mounting, not standalone washdown duty. Onboard I/O includes 6 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 analog input, and 1 analog output — enough for a basic conveyor or pump application without an expansion module. The integrated Safe-Torque-Off (STO) eliminates the need for a separate safety relay in most guarding circuits, saving DIN-rail space and wiring.
Fieldbus and commissioning notes
Fieldbus is fixed at USS / MODBUS RTU on the integrated RS-485 port. No PROFINET or EtherCAT option card is included in this variant — if you need deterministic motion sync or distributed clocks, this is not the right slice. For simple speed control via MODBUS RTU at 19200 baud, the drive accepts process data objects (PZD) for setpoint and status, and the STO remains active regardless of bus state.
