The Siemens 6SL3210-1KE21-3UP0 is a SINAMICS G120C compact drive rated for 5.5 kW output with a 150% overload capability for 3 seconds — sized for a 5.5 kW induction motor on a 380-480 VAC three-phase supply, unfiltered. The 150% overload for 3 sec covers short-duration peak torque demands like conveyor starts or crusher jams without oversizing the drive frame. PROFIBUS DP is integrated on the control board, so no separate communication module is needed for a PROFIBUS network. Safe-Torque-Off (STO) is also onboard, eliminating the need for an external safety relay in many guarding circuits. The I/O complement — 6 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 analog input, 1 analog output — is sufficient for basic speed control with feedback and a few discrete signals.
Panel integration
IP20 / UL Open Type means this drive is intended for installation inside an enclosure. The FSB form factor (196 x 100 x 203 mm HxWxD) mounts on a standard DIN rail or backplate. The 380-480 VAC input range with +10/-20% tolerance covers nominal 400 V and 480 V line supplies common in European and North American industrial plants. Unfiltered design means conducted emissions are higher than a filtered variant; if the line has sensitive equipment on the same bus, an external line filter may be needed.
