Drive selection memo
The Siemens 6SL3210-1KE22-6UB0 is a SINAMICS G120C compact drive rated for 11.0 kW output with a 150% overload capability for 3 seconds — sized for a 15 HP induction motor on 380-480 VAC three-phase, 47-63 Hz. The unfiltered input stage means external line reactors or filters may be needed for harmonic compliance depending on the supply impedance and local grid code. Integrated Safe Torque Off (STO) eliminates the need for a separate safety relay in most Category 3 / PL d safety circuits, saving panel space. The STO function is SIL 3 capable per IEC 61800-5-2, and the drive accepts the safety signal via the 24 V control terminal — no option card required. Fieldbus is USS/MODBUS RTU over the integrated RS-485 port. No PROFINET or PROFIBUS on this variant; if the line requires deterministic cyclic data, plan for a CBE20 communication board or step to the PN version of the G120C.
I/O and control wiring
The I/O complement — 6 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 analog input, 1 analog output — covers basic pump/fan control or a simple conveyor section without an extra I/O block. The analog input accepts 0-10 V or 0/4-20 mA (jumper-selectable), and the analog output can be mapped to actual frequency or current for a panel meter or remote SCADA. Power wiring: 380-480 VAC three-phase on the line side, motor connection on the load side. The unfiltered drive generates switching harmonics; for sensitive environments or long motor cables (over 50 m), add an output sine-wave filter or du/dt filter. The IP20 / UL Open Type enclosure requires installation in a clean, dry cabinet — no washdown or outdoor exposure.
