The 6SL3210-1KE23-2UB0 is a SINAMICS G120C variable frequency drive rated for 15.0 kW output power with 150% overload capability for 3 seconds — sized for a standard 15 kW 4-pole induction motor on a 380-480 VAC three-phase supply. The 150% overload for 3 seconds handles short-duration peak loads like conveyor start-up or crusher jams without tripping, but sustained overloads beyond that window require a larger frame. Input range covers 380-480 VAC three-phase, +10%/-20%, at 47-63 Hz, unfiltered — meaning it accepts the full global low-voltage mains tolerance band without an external line reactor for voltage sags, though a line reactor is still recommended for harmonic mitigation on weak grids. Integrated Safe-Torque-Off (STO) eliminates the need for an external safety relay on basic guarding circuits — wire the STO input directly to a safety-rated door switch or light curtain output, and the drive removes torque without a main contactor. This saves panel space and wiring time on machines requiring SIL 3 / PL e stop functions.
I/O and fieldbus integration
Onboard I/O gives 6 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 analog input, and 1 analog output — enough for a basic speed/start/stop application without an expansion module. The analog input accepts 0-10 V or 0/4-20 mA signals from a PLC or potentiometer; the analog output can echo actual speed or current to a panel meter or remote SCADA. Fieldbus is USS/MODBUS RTU integrated on the standard RJ45 port — no option card needed for Modbus RTU communication. For PROFINET or EtherNet/IP, a separate Communication Module (e.g. 6SL3246-0BA20-1FA0) plugs into the drive's slot. Default Modbus settings are 19200 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit; verify slave ID mapping in the commissioning software.
Mounting and environmental fit
Frame size FSC measures 295 x 140 x 203 mm (H x W x D) and is rated IP20 / UL Open Type — intended for clean, dry indoor panel mounting where no washdown or dust ingress is expected. The IP20 rating means it is not protected against water jets; install inside a cabinet rated to the environment. The compact FSC footprint fits standard 200 mm deep enclosures with room for wiring ducts.
