Control unit dependency and firmware requirement
The 6SL3210-1NE11-7AL1: This PM230 is a power stage only — it requires a separate SINAMICS G120 Control Unit (CU240B/E-2 or CU230P-2) running firmware V4.4 or higher. No safety functions are supported on this module. The control unit plugs directly onto the power module's interface; no additional cabling between them. For a BOM line, budget the control unit as a separate line item.
What the ratings mean for the panel builder
The 0.55 kW low-overload rating at 150% for 3 s covers pump and fan starts that need short torque bursts. The 380-480 V 3 AC input range handles 400 V and 480 V mains without a reconfiguration jumper. Ambient temperature limit of 0 to +40 °C for low overload means the module must be in a ventilated cabinet or derated above that. The integrated Class A filter meets EN 61800-3 Category C2 conducted emissions for industrial second-environment installations — no external EMC filter needed for most plant-floor drives.
