Drive selection memo — PM230 for pump/fan duty
The Siemens 6SL3210-1NE15-8UL1 is a SINAMICS G120 Power Module PM230 in the FSA frame size, rated for 380-480 V three-phase input at 47-63 Hz. It delivers 2.2 kW under low overload (LO) with a defined overload profile: 150 % for 3 s, 110 % for 57 s, and 100 % for 240 s. The IP20 enclosure means it mounts inside a panel or cabinet — no washdown rating, so keep it dry. Ambient operating range is 0 to +40 °C at LO. This PM230 variant is unfiltered, so external line reactor or EMC filter may be needed depending on the installation environment and local EMC directives. The power module requires a separate Control Unit — compatible with CU240B/E-2 and CU230P-2, firmware V4.4 or higher. Note that this PM230 supports no safety functions; if you need integrated safe torque off, look at the PM240 or PM250 series.
Integration notes — panel fit and Control Unit pairing
The FSA frame measures 196 x 73 x 165 mm (HxWxD). The IP20 rating means no gasket sealing; plan for filtered fan ventilation if the cabinet runs hot. No Control Unit ships with this power module. You must order a CU240B/E-2 or CU230P-2 separately, and the firmware on the CU must be V4.4 or higher. The PM230 communicates via the standard SINAMICS G120 interface; fieldbus protocol is determined by the Control Unit variant you select.
