Power Module PM230 — what the ratings mean for your panel
The 6SL3210-1NE21-3AL1 is a SINAMICS G120 Power Module PM230 rated 5.5 kW at low overload (LO) on a 380–480 V three-phase supply, with an integrated Class A EMC filter. Low overload means 150 % current for 3 s, 110 % for 57 s, and 100 % for 240 s — enough headroom for pump, fan, or conveyor starts that pull briefly above rated load. The IP20 enclosure keeps it inside a cabinet; no washdown rating here. Ambient temperature range is 0 to +40 °C at LO, so derate above that or provide forced ventilation. Dimensions are 292 x 100 x 165 mm (HxWxD), FSB frame size — fits standard 200 mm deep enclosures with clearance for the top cable entry.
Control unit compatibility and firmware
This PM230 ships without a Control Unit — you pair it with a CU240B/E-2 or CU230P-2 running firmware V4.4 or higher. No safety functions supported on the PM230 variant, so if your application needs STO or SS1, step up to the PM240-2. The integrated Class A filter meets EN 61800-3 for first environment (domestic) conducted emissions, saving an external filter on the line side.
