Drive selection memo
The Siemens 6SL3210-1NE21-8AL1 is a SINAMICS G120 Power Module PM230 in frame size FSB, rated for 380-480 VAC three-phase input at 47-63 Hz. It delivers 7.5 kW under low overload (150% for 3 s, 110% for 57 s, 100% for 240 s) and carries an integrated Class A EMC filter — no external filter needed for most European industrial mains. Ambient rating is 0 to +40 °C for low-overload duty. The module ships without a Control Unit; it requires a CU240B/E-2 or CU230P-2 with firmware V4.4 or higher. Note: this PM230 variant does not support safety functions — if your application needs STO or SS1, step up to a PM240 or PM250.
Panel integration
The PM230 mounts on a standard DIN rail (EN 60715) inside an IP20 enclosure. Dimensions are 292 x 100 x 165 mm (HxWxD), so it fits a 300 mm deep cabinet with room for wiring clearance above and below. The integrated Class A filter saves a separate filter slot, but the module still needs clearance for airflow — Siemens recommends 50 mm above and below for natural convection. The power terminals accept up to 16 mm² cable; control wiring lands on the optional Control Unit's spring-cage terminals.
