Power Module PM230 — what it is and what it needs
The 6SL3210-1NE22-6UL0 is a SINAMICS G120 Power Module PM230, unfiltered, in IP20 (FSC — Frame Size C) for panel-mount integration. It runs on 380-480 V 3 AC (+10/-10%, 47-63 Hz) and delivers 11 kW under low overload (LO): 150% for 3 s, 110% for 57 s, 100% for 240 s. Ambient temperature range is 0 to +40 °C for LO duty. This power module ships without a Control Unit or operating unit. It is released for CU240B/E-2 and CU230P-2 Control Units running firmware V4.4 or higher. Note: the PM230 variant does not support safety functions — if your application requires integrated safe torque off or safe stop, this is not the module for that.
What the overload ratings mean for your load
The low-overload curve (11 kW at 150% for 3 s, 110% for 57 s, 100% continuous at 240 s) is sized for variable-torque applications like fans and centrifugal pumps where peak demand is brief. For constant-torque loads (conveyors, positive-displacement pumps) that need sustained overload, verify the duty cycle against the 150% / 3-second window — if the machine pulls high current longer, step up to the next frame or a high-overload variant.
Panel integration notes
Dimensions are 355 x 140 x 165 mm (HxWxD) for FSC. IP20 means it is intended for a clean, dry enclosure — no washdown or dust protection. Mount on a backplate with clearance for airflow; the module dissipates heat through its baseplate, so a proper thermal bond to the panel metal is expected. No Control Unit is included, so order a CU240B/E-2 or CU230P-2 separately, plus any operator panel if needed.
