The low-overload curve delivers 150% rated current for 3 seconds, 110% for 57 seconds, and 100% continuous over 240 seconds, which suits constant-torque loads like conveyors, mixers, and positive-displacement pumps where the peak demand is brief and infrequent. This FSC (Frame Size C) module measures 355 x 140 x 165 mm (HxWxD) and mounts without a Control Unit or operating panel — it requires a CU240B/E-2 or CU230P-2 Control Unit, firmware V4.4 or higher, to function. The PM230 variant does not support safety functions, so any safe torque-off or safe stop must be handled externally through the control unit or a separate safety relay.

The 150% / 3 s peak handles startup inertia or a momentary jam without tripping; the 110% / 57 s plateau covers a soft-start acceleration ramp. If your application demands higher peak current for longer — say a centrifuge or crusher with a high-inertia load — you would step to the high-overload variant in the same frame size. The unfiltered design means the module does not include an internal EMC line filter. For CE-marked installations or environments with sensitive equipment, an external filter (Siemens or third-party) must be added between the line supply and the module. The IP20 enclosure suits clean, dry panel environments — not washdown or outdoor locations.
