What this PM230 module delivers
The Siemens 6SL3210-1NE24-5AL0 is a SINAMICS G120 PM230 power module rated for 22 kW at low overload on a 3-phase 380-480 VAC supply (+10/-10%, 47-63 Hz). Low overload means 110% for 60 seconds and 100% for 240 seconds — enough headroom for pumps, fans, and conveyors that don't slam into hard stops. Ambient temperature range is 0 to +40 °C at low overload; derate above that. Built-in Class A EMC filter saves panel space and avoids an external filter for most industrial environments. The FSD frame measures 419 x 275 x 204 mm (H x W x D), IP20 — mount it inside a clean enclosure, not outdoors or in a washdown zone. This module requires a separate control unit: CU240B/E-2 or CU230P-2, firmware V4.4 or later. No safety functions onboard — the PM230 does not support Safety Integrated, so if you need STO or SS1, look at the PM240-2 instead.
Panel integration notes
FSD frame mounts on a backplate with four screws; no DIN-rail clip on this size. The 275 mm width and 204 mm depth leave room for a CU and optional operator panel on the front. Power wiring enters through the bottom gland plate — plan for cable bending radius. Built-in Class A filter means you don't need a separate EMC cabinet, but the module itself needs at least 100 mm clearance above and below for airflow. IP20 keeps fingers out but doesn't protect against dust ingress — keep the enclosure door closed.
