The Siemens 6SL3210-1PE14-3UL0 is a SINAMICS G120 PM240-2 power module in the FSA frame size, designed to pair with a CU control unit to form a complete variable-speed drive. It runs on 3AC 380-480 V (+10/-10%) at 47-63 Hz and delivers 1.1 kW under high overload (200% for 3 s, 150% for 57 s, 100% for 240 s) up to 50 °C ambient, or 1.5 kW under low overload (150% for 3 s, 110% for 57 s, 100% for 240 s) up to 40 °C ambient. A built-in braking chopper handles dynamic deceleration without an external resistor bank for many applications. The module ships without a control unit or operator panel — you supply the CU.
What the overload ratings mean for your motor
The high-overload (HO) rating tells you the drive can deliver 200 % of rated current for 3 seconds to break away a stuck pump or start a loaded conveyor. That 1.1 kW HO figure is the continuous motor rating the drive can sustain; the overload peaks are the transient capability. The low-overload (LO) rating of 1.5 kW applies when the load profile is steady — a fan running at constant speed, for instance — and the ambient stays at or below 40 °C. Pick the HO rating if the machine sees frequent starts, jams, or short-duration peak torque demands. The built-in braking chopper recovers regenerative energy from decelerating loads, which saves on a separate resistor for moderate duty cycles.
Panel integration — what fits where
The FSA frame measures 196 x 73 x 165 mm (H x W x D) with IP20 protection — designed for clean, dry cabinet environments. No filter built in, so if your installation requires conducted emission limits per EN 61800-3 Category C2 or C3, you will need an external line filter upstream. The module snaps onto a standard DIN rail; allow clearance above and below for airflow and the braking-chopper dissipation. No control unit means you also need a CU240x-2 or similar to complete the drive — plan the cabinet depth for the CU + PM stack height.
