Power module for the G120 family
The Siemens 6SL3211-1NE17-7UG1 is a SINAMICS G120 PM230 Power Module in the FSA frame size, designed as a spare part for the G120 drive platform. It runs on 380-480 V 3 AC, 47-63 Hz, and delivers 3 kW under low overload (LO) conditions — meaning it can handle 150% overload for 3 seconds, 110% for 57 seconds, and 100% continuously over 240 seconds, all at an ambient temperature of 0 to +40 °C.
The 3 kW low-overload rating is the key selection parameter here: this module is sized for a 3 kW motor running a constant-torque load like a conveyor or pump, where short bursts of extra torque (150% for 3 seconds) are needed for starting or brief overloads. The 110% for 57 seconds covers longer, moderate overload events — think a crusher jam or a sticky roller. The 100% continuous rating means it can run at full rated current indefinitely within the 40 °C ambient limit. The FSA frame size (238 x 126 x 171 mm, HxWxD) is the smallest in the PM230 family, so it fits in compact panel layouts.
This module mounts in a standard enclosure on a backplate — no DIN rail. It ships without a Control Unit or operating unit, so you pair it with a CU240B/E-2 or CU230P-2 at firmware V4.4 or higher. The unfiltered variant means it does not include an internal EMC filter, so plan for an external line filter if the installation must meet conducted-emission limits (EN 61800-3 Category C2 or C3, depending on cable length and environment).
