Power Module for the Panel
The 6SL3211-1NE23-8UL1 is a SINAMICS G120 Power Module PM230 — the unfiltered variant, rated 380-480 V AC three-phase at 47-63 Hz. It delivers 18.5 kW under low overload (150% for 3 s, 110% for 57 s, 100% for 240 s), so it's sized for pumps, fans, and conveyors where the peak demand is brief and the duty cycle is steady. The IP20 enclosure means it lives inside a panel — no washdown, no outdoor mounting; plan for a clean, dry electrical room or cabinet.
The low-overload curve is the spec that decides the fit. At 18.5 kW LO, this module handles a motor that pulls that nameplate continuously, with short bursts up to 27.75 kW (150%) for three seconds. If your process demands sustained overload — say a centrifuge or a crusher that hits 150% for ten seconds — this isn't the right frame; you'd step up to the high-overload variant. The ambient limit of 0 to +40 °C at LO means the panel cooling needs to keep the air around the module under 40 °C; above that, you derate or add forced ventilation.
Integration Notes
This PM230 ships without a Control Unit — it needs a CU240B-2, CU240E-2, or CU230P-2, firmware V4.4 or higher. The frame size is FSC (411 x 200 x 171 mm HxWxD). No safety functions are supported on the PM230; if your application requires Safe Torque Off or Safe Speed Monitoring, you need the PM240 or PM250 series instead. The unfiltered input means it lacks an internal line filter — if your installation must meet EMC Category C2 or C3, you'll add an external filter between the line and the module.
