What it is and what it delivers
The 6SL3211-1PB21-8UL0 is a SINAMICS Power Module PM240-2 — unfiltered, with an integrated braking chopper built in. Rated for 200-240 V 1/3 AC +10/-10%, 47-63 Hz input. The high-overload curve gives you 3 kW at 200% for 3 seconds, 150% for 57 s, then 100% continuous at -10 to +50 °C ambient. Switch to low overload and it delivers 4 kW at 150% for 3 s, 110% for 57 s, continuous at -10 to +40 °C. That's the difference between sizing for a conveyor that needs a kick to start vs one that runs steady. The integrated braking chopper means you don't need an external brake resistor for controlled deceleration on many loads — saves panel space and wiring time. But for vertical loads or fast cycles, you'll still add a resistor across the DC bus. The module ships without a Control Unit or operator panel; you pair it with a CU240-2 series unit (firmware V4.6 or later).
Panel fit and integration
IP20 protection — it's an enclosure-mounted module, not a standalone drive. Mount it in a cabinet with proper ventilation; the 411 x 200 x 171 mm (HxWxD) FSC frame needs clear air path above and below. No Control Unit on board means you'll need to allocate DIN rail space for the CU240-2 alongside it. The braking chopper is internal, so no extra wiring for dynamic braking on standard applications.
