What this PM240-2 delivers
The Siemens 6SL3211-1PE18-0UL1 is a SINAMICS PM240-2 power module — the unfiltered version with an integrated braking chopper — sized for 380–480 V three-phase supplies at 47–63 Hz. It carries two overload duty ratings: 2.2 kW at high overload (200% for 3 s, 150% for 57 s, 100% for 240 s) in ambient temperatures up to +50 °C, or 3 kW at low overload (150% for 3 s, 110% for 57 s, 100% for 240 s) up to +40 °C. That dual rating means you can size it for a pump running steady state at 3 kW (LO) or a press that needs 200% peak torque for a few seconds (HO) — the same hardware, just a different parameter set. The module ships without a Control Unit or operator panel; you add a CU (e.g., CU240E-2 or CU250S-2) and the firmware must be at least V4.6. The FSA frame measures 238 x 126 x 171 mm (HxWxD) and is rated IP20 — intended for enclosed cabinet mounting, not washdown areas.
Mounts in a standard control cabinet on the DIN rail or screw-mount plate. The integrated braking chopper saves an external resistor for simple deceleration profiles, but for vertical loads or frequent fast stops you still need an external braking resistor on the DC link.
